One of the most skilled and influential players among still active bassists, Stu Hamm has a line of signature models with Washburn. He has played and recorded with guitar heroes such as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Currently, his series consists of five models with SHBH1 being the base model of the line. SHBH1 starts off with a solid, double cutaway body made of swamp ash. The top is flat and unbound, and features no pickguards. This model is available in black color with gloss finish. The bridge on SHBH1 is a hipshot with four saddles and black paint to match the rest of the hardware and body color. It also features a piezo pickup for each string. In pickups area, a somewhat unusual combo is found, as single pickup and humbucker are placed in S/H pattern. Both of them are from exclusive EMG Stu Hamm series. They are controlled through volume and tone knobs. The neck on this model is made of maple and has a bolt-on joint. Rosewood fingerboard is equipped with 24 frets, dot inlays and 1.61" wide string nut. 34" scale and lollipop-styled tuners with D-tuner complete the list of specs.
