Charvel`s Desolation Series was launched last year and it`s aim is to offer high quality features with affordable prices. Currently, there are five designs, fifteen models and none of them costs over $1,000. 2012 saw five novelties, three with star shape and two with soloist shape. DST- FR 1H is a star shape and body made of mahogany. The top is flat, and features no binding or pickguards. Being the base model for the Star section, DST-3 FR 1H features only black and snow white color options, while the transparent colors with maple tops have been omitted. In the bridge section, there is a recessed FRT O2000 Floyd Rose double locking tremolo with black nickel plating. As for pickups, DST-3 FR 1H is equipped with one passive BooHeung humbucker in the bridge position. It is controlled with a master volume knob positioned below the bridge. The neck on this star is made of maple with a modern contour and bolt-on joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and it features 24 jumbo sized frets, white dot position inlays, 1.6875" wide string nut and 12" radius. 25-1/2" scale and black nickel complete the specs list. The MSRP for DST-3 FR 1H is set at $666.65.

Very good guitar for metal players. Or if you are a WASP, EVH, Gus G., or Loudness you should get this. It even has a compound radius neck and the logo is done in some nice inlay.
