SK-1 ST is a solid-bodied guitar with double-cut design. Skatecaster is one of the starting models of the Desolation series. Also, it is one of two double-cut lines introduced into the initial Desolation lineup. Out of three body shapes introduced two years ago, Skatecaster is the only one to lack tier 2 model. SK-1 ST is practically the same as the SK-1 FR, with the only major difference being found in the bridge section. SK-1 ST has a tune-o-matic bridge with a stoptail bar and the other one is equipped with a Floyd Rose bridge. EMG 81 and 85 are installed in the front. Mahogany back and maple top comprise the body, while the mahogany neck is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
