G series is Cort`s take on the lighter side of the Superstrat/Soloist concept, unlike the X series models, which are taking it to the extreme. G series is mainly oriented towards the younger players who are looking to get a reliable guitar and a trusty companion for the early stages of their musical development. For 2014, Cort updates this series with only one model, the six-stringed G220. G220 comes with a solid and flat body made of basswood and a bolt-on neck made of hard Canadian maple. Basswood and maple are a quite common sight in the lower intermediate and beginner classes, as they are both affordable, easy to work with and give a decent tone together. Bridge section is fit with a non-locking tremolo bridge with string-through construction. In it`s front, there are three passive pickups (H/S/S) with master volume, master tone (push/pull) and a five-position blade switch. Maple neck sports a fast and comfortable contour in the back and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top.
