Excel 59 is a remake of the original 59, made in 1959 by John D`Angelico. Today`s 59 is a jack of all trades, being well versed in jazz, blues, alt rock and many other music languages. 17" wide body, hollow archtop construction and classic D`Angelico styling are the hallmarks of this modern/vintage six-stringer. Excel 59 is available in four different colors, all featuring gold hardware and cream plastics. The chassis of this magnificent archtop is made up of laminated flamed maple back, sides and top, glued-in maple/walnut neck and 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Important hardware and electronics options include a rosewood bridge, Stairstep tailpiece, Skyscraper truss rod cover, set of two P-90 single-coil pickups and Grover Super Rotomatic tuners.
