D`Angeloco`s Premier EXL-1 was designed with jazz players in mind, though it can also be used for blues and some lighter rock works. It is a comeback of the original D`Angelico EXL, in shape of a classic New York jazz box. Some of the most distinctive features include a characteristic D`Angelico headstock, Skyscraper truss rod cover and stairstep tailpiece. The body of this refined jazz box is made of laminated maple back, sides and top. It is coupled with a solid maple neck (C profile, set-in joint), with a regular 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top (medium jumbo frets, block inlays, 1-11/16" nut). Stock options in hardware and electronics sections include a rosewood bridge, D`Angelico floating minibucker in the neck position and Grover Rotomatic tuners.
