Back in the late 1970s, Dean was just another small brand trying hard to stay afloat and avoid sinking. It was Cadillac and ML which secured Dean`s future. Among the earliest models, 1980 Cadillac holds a super special place. Dean reissues the legendary axe every several years and 2017 is one of those years.
Cadillac 1980 starts off with a solid, flat-top Cadillac body, set neck and passive electronics. The entire body is made of mahogany, as is the glued-in neck. The neck sports the classic V profile and set-in joint in the back, with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard on top.
Other important features include a two-piece bridge unit (TOM/stoptail bar), a set of Dean`s own DMT Design humbuckers and Grover tuners.
