Thoroughbred is a brand new series in Dean`s electric section of the catalog and it currently offers two models, Thoroughbred Deluxe and Thoroughbred Maple Top. Deluxe is set as series` flagship model, though the Maple Top model follows closely. Both models come with sub-grand MSRPs, for Maple Top, it`s set at $800. Dean Thoroughbred Maple Top is a solid-bodied single cut guitar with Les Paul-like body. It`s made of mahogany back and plain maple top. Top is carved and bound in white binding. Color palette is restricted to only one option, Trans Brazilia with high gloss finish. Bridge section on this model is a two-piece combo made up of tune-o-matic in the front and stoptail bar in the back. Both are plated in chrome. Pickups installed on both Thoroughbred models are Dean`s own DMT passive humbuckers. Bridge position is equipped with the "Equalizer" and neck rocks the "Nostalgia" model. They feature split volume nad tone knobs with a three-way toggle pickup selector. Mahogany-made neck sports "C" contour in the back and set-in joint. On top of this neck, Dean installs a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets. Pearl block inlays and 1-11/16" wide string nut complete the fingerboard. Scale measures 24-3/4" in length.
