V Chicago Flame is a model from the Chicago series of electric guitars made by Dean. Chicago series, in turn, is a part of the entire section of the catalog named Chicago which revives the models Dean Guitars started with in 1977. Back then, production facilities were located in Chicago, and units made there have a very special place in Dean Guitars history. Starting models were V, ML and Z. V was and still is the most popular one and the new V Chicago Flame gets unbelievably close tot he original. Body of this model is made of mahogany and it sports a flamed maple top. It is bound around the edges and finished in high gloss. There are three color schemes available for this model: Classic Black, Trans Brazilia and Trans Cherryburst. These three are the standard color palette of the Chicago line. Pickups on this model come in H/H configuration. DiMarzio Super Dstortion humbuckers are installed in both the bridge and neck positions and feature standard set of control knobs. Neck is made of mahogany and it features V contour in the back. On top of the neck Dean installs a bound ebony fingerboard with 22 frets.
