EC series is LTD`s series of Les Paul shaped guitars with EC-1000 as it`s flagship. EC-1000 received a new color option roster and is refreshed for 2012 season. It was exhibited along with other ESP and LTD novelties at the NAMM 2012 Show. EC-1000 kicks off with a solid, single cutaway body made of mahogany back and maple top. The top is carved and bound in white with the exception of black EC-1000 which boasts elegant abalone binding. Black and vintage black feature satin finishes, while silver sunburst and metallic gold sunburst have gloss finish. The bridge is made by Tonepros and it is a tune-o-matic with a stoptail bar. On vintage black and black, they are gold plated and on other two plating is done in black nickel. The pickups on all versions are EMG81 in the bridge and EMG60 in the neck position. Controls consist of master tone, split volume knobs and a three-way toggle switch. The neck is, as it is a standard for ESP and LTD Les Paul-like models, made of mahogany and equipped with a thin U contour and set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of ebony and has 24 extra jumbo frets, flag inlays, custom LTD inlay at the 12th fret and 1.65" wide string nut.
