ESP`s EX series is based on the classic Gibson Explorer, the grandfather of extreme guitar design. It is, besides the original series in Gibson and Epiphone catalogs, the most successful Explorer series on the market. EX line stretches from the LTD and all the way to the top echelons of the ESP catalog. In 2016, LTD segment will receive several updates and the budget-friendly EX-50 is one of them. It is a basic six-string guitar with iconic design, reliable hardware & electronics, bolt-on construction and short 24-3/4" scale. Black Cherry Metallic is currently the only color option available.
EX-50 starts off simple and strong, with a solid basswood body and bolt-on maple neck. The body features a beveled top, while the neck has the standard U profile in the back. Deep cutaway and the backed up heel allow for a super easy access all the way up to the 22nd fret. Rosewood fingerboard which tops the fast and smooth neck has XJ frets, dot inlays and 1.65" wide molded nut.
Pair of standard issue ESP Designed LH-150 humbuckers lays in the bridge and neck sockets. These guns are passive, but have a very high output. Metal and hard rock are their first and second language. Master volume, master tone and a three-way pickup switch comprise the controls. Tune-o-matic bridge with stoptail bar and die-cast LTD tuners complete the specs list.
