FX series is ESP`s take on the classic Explorer shape. Back in the 1950s, when it was introduced, Explorer failed big time, as it was too much ahead of anything known to the guitar world at that time. Some twenty-twenty years later, together with the Flying V, it became an icon of the emerging metal scene. ESP`s Explorer-like models are probably the most popular ones, after the original Gibson Explorer, of course. LTD FX series offers Explorers made for the intermediate class of the market. FX-400 is a solid, double-cut guitar with mahogany body with spalted maple cap on top. EMG 81 (bridge) and 60 (neck) give that extra metal growl to this six-stringed beast. 22-fret rosewood fingerboard is installed on the standard U-shaped mahogany neck.
