2012 brings a renewed American Standard series with new Strat, Tele, Precision and Jazz models. Main difference when compared to previous variants is the use of Fender Custom Shop pickups for new models. Other than that, these are mainly the same models as before. 2012 American Stratocaster Left Handed comes with a classic Strat shaped double-cutaway body made of alder. It features no binding or top woods. Classic plastic pickguard/electronics cover is still present and it retains it`s iconic shape. This lefty has a somewhat shorter palette of color options. 3-tone sunburst, black and Olympic white come with gloss finish. The bridge is a two-point synchronized tremolo with six adjustable saddles, chrome plating and string-through-body construction. Pickups are provided by Custom Shop and laid out in a classic Strat S/S/S pattern with slanted bridge pickup. Pickups are Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s Strat singles. They are controlled through master volume and two tone knobs. Pickup switch is still a five-position blade. Neck on this model is made of maple and equipped with a modern C contour. It is attached to the body with a four-bolt joint. Fingerboard can be made either of rosewood or maple. Either way, it features 22 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays and 1.685" wide synthetic bone nut. 25-1/2" scale, chrome hardware and Bi-Flex truss rod system complete the specs. This model was unveiled at 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse. The MSRP for 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Left Handed is set between $1,529 and $1,599.
