American Standard Series carried the banner of Stratocaster as the series which has the best ratio of exclusive features and affordability. Style and simplicity, along with it`s signature tone were always the strong points of the line. For several years Fender prepared and announced a renewal of the series, and now it finally happened. Fender`s 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse booth boasts brand new American Standard models. Among them is 2012 American Standard Telecaster Left Handed, a twin sibling of 2012 American Standard Telecaster. It comes with same exact specs. It has a solid, single cutaway body made of alder and equipped with contoured back for improved ergonomics. There are no pickguards or top woods, but white plastic pickguard with Tele signature shape is still here. Pickup combo comes in S/S pattern. Fender Custom Shop provided Broadcaster pickup for the bridge position and Twisted-Tele single coil pickup for the neck position. They are controlled through master volume, master tone and a three-position blade switch. The neck is a standard Fender appointment, it is made of maple with a modern C contour and four-bolt joint. It is topped with a maple fingerboard. It features 22 medium jumbo sized frets, black dot position inlays, 9.50" radius and 1.685" wide synthetic bone nut. Other features include: 25-1/2" scale, chrome hardware and Bi-Flex truss rod system. The MSRP for 2012 American Standard Telecaster Left Handed goes from $1,529.99 and $1,599.99.
