At my age I've had a couple of classic Teles. I've owned a 1964 a 1976 standard and a mid-90's B-bender Tele. This Am. Special is all I now have left as far as Tele's go. I own it in white. I bought mine in 2012 and it has the Telecaster 60th anniversary neck plate on it. It plays smooth. The workmanship is good, no picky fret ends, nice finish... The pickups and the pots are top notch. I was never one for individual adjustment saddle bridges on a Tele. That better suited for Strats. Because of it's original style 3-pc brass bridge setup, the authentic tele sounds are all there; snap, crackle and crunch from the bridge pup or smooth blues/jazz tele sounds from the neck and it renders a classic Tele middle position sound. For the money this Tele is a great value. I feel I got my money's worth without breaking the bank. Try one!
