Bass VI is a model, that has actually been in production from 1961 to 1975 and it represents a very interesting concept. It is a six-string bass with a short scale. 30 inches of this model`s scale fall into the baritone guitar domain, so technically, this one goes as a guitar, despite it`s name. Nevertheless, Fender decided to revive this model for 2013 and has assigned it to the intriguing Pawn Shop series. It is a line of guitars with a motto: Guitars that never were, but should have been. This Bass VI fits perfectly, for it is one unusual guitar. It comes with a solid, double cut body made in the shape of a classic Jazzmaster. It`s flat on top and only decorated with a plastic pickguard, which also serves as electronics shield. Bridge section features a fixed bridge with floating trem tailpiece. Pickups are installed in H/S/S configuration and feature a basic controls unit. Master volume, master tone and a five-position blade comprise the controls. C-contoured maple neck is equipped with a bolt-on joint and a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard. Medium jumbo frets, 1.65" wide synthetic bone nut and 9.5" radius complete the fingerboard.
