Back in 1960s, the second decade of the Stratocaster production, Strat and Fender started gaining a big advantage over Les Paul and Gibson on the market. The simplistic approach, modern shapes, improved playability and different tone than Gibson gave the Fender models huge boost. However, the 1960s are also the period marked by Leo Fender`s sale of Fender Guitars to CBS. This marked a great turn around in the design of the entire catalog. Today, in 2013, Fender has the series named Classic, which offers vintage-styled guitars based on 1950s, '60s and '70s models. These current models look and sound as if it was the 1950 or 1960 again and they`ve just came off the production line. Classic '60s Stratocaster Lacquer is one of new Classic models for 2013. It comes with a solid, double-cut alder body and maple neck. Bridge section features a vintage-styled tremolo bridge with string-through construction and chrome plating. Classic vintage-styled single-coil pickups are installed in the front. Te three single-coils come with a standard Strat controls unit. Neck features C contour in the back and a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. Fender tuners, 25-1/2" scale, 1.65" synthetic bone string nut and lacquer finish wrap this Strat`s specs list.
