Back in the late 1950s, Gibson expanded their horizons with first futuristic guitars, first humbucking pickups by Seth Lover and first semi-hollow bodied guitars. 1959 ES-335 Historic Dot Reissue is a tribute to one of the first semi-acoustics with Gibson badge ever to appear and it`s now bearing a Gibson Custom logo. Body of this semi-acoustic double-cut is made of maple and it`s paired with a mahogany neck. The body features creme binding, pair of "f" holes, gloss finish and plastic pickguard. Bridge section on this one is made up of tune-o-matic bridge with a stoptail in the back. Classic `57 humbuckers are featured in both the neck and bridge positions. One-piece neck is rounded and topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
