Throughout the 1960s Les paul briefly went out of production, but it returned in full glory and together with SG, it took over the emerging hard rock and heavy metal scene. 1968 model was one of the most successful LPs in the late 1960s, it`s Custom variant in particular. 1968 Les Paul Custom Chambered model is a tribute to the original 1968 LP Custom. It comes with a chambered mahogany body with plain maple top over it. Top panel is carved and bound in creme. On top of the body Gibson installs a tune-o-matic/stoptail bar bridge section with '57 Classic humbuckers installed in the front. Mahogany neck is set and equipped with a rounded contour in the back. 22-fret fingerboard is made of bound ebony.

I saw this guitar in guitar center 2 years ago. I was a little disgusted at first( Why would they make a army green les paul?) but after staring at it in the sun, i fell in love with it easily. whats cool about it is the finish sparkles in the light. very high quality for a very high price good as every les paul good as every les paul bad at first but awesome in the end
