Gibson Custom 50th Anniversary 1958 Korina Explorer
Flying V Electric Guitars by Gibson Custom
Flying V Electric Guitars by Gibson Custom
Back in 1957 Gibson introduced three radically new and different models, Explorer, Flying V and Moderne. At first it seemed that all three models are doomed. Later throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Flying V and Explorer became synonymous with heavy metal and similar styles and are still among the most popular and most wanted guitar shapes. This model celebrates the 50 years of the 1958 Korina Explorer. It comes with a solid, single cut body made of korina. It`s flat, unbound and covered with a plastic white pickguard. Bridge section is a classic one, it features tune-o-matic bridge with stoptail bar in the back. A pair of active humbuckers is installed in front of the bridge section. Rounded mahogany neck is set-in and topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
