Gibson Custom`s Byrdland models are among the most exclusive electric guitars ever made. These master class six-stringers were created some sixty years ago for Nashville legends, Billy Byrd and Hank Garland. Throughout the years and the decades, Byrdland guitars have proven to be the cream of the crop among the exquisite Gibson Custom guitars. Now, for 2014, Gibson Custom has revived this magnificent guitar in full glory. It kicks off with a magnificent single-cut body with ultra thin contour and vintage-styled decorations. Back and side panels on 2014 Byrdland are made of maple, while the top is made of spruce. In contrast to the significant width and length of the body, it only has 2-1/4" depth. One more interesting thing is that this gorgeous six-stringer has a super short 23-1/2 scale. On the top, there`s a fixed tune-o-matic bridge with a wooden base and a trapezoid tailpiece in the back. Classic `57 humbuckers are installed in the front. They come with two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Maple and walnut neck has a vintage contour in the back and a bound 22-fret ebony fingerboard on the top. Set of six gold-plated tuning machines completes the specs list. The MSRP is set at jaw-dropping $8,699.
