Firebird is one of the most important and the most iconic electric guitars ever made. It was introduced in the early 1960`s as a rounder, softer replacement for the failed Explorer. The new `bird became an instant classic and one of the most revered blues/rock axes. Firebird Custom is one of the most affordable Gibson Custom models, coming in at $3,799. It is a Limited Run model, which means it is available in very small numbers. Since it`s a Custom, it is available only in Ebony with gold-plated hardware. Core construction features include a solid mahogany body (nitrocellulose finish, black pickguard), set-in mahogany neck (medium C-shape), richlite fingerboard (medium jumbo frets, block inlays, 24.75" scale), two-piece hardtail bridge, 498T/490R pickups, and Grover tuners.
