Johnny Winter Signature Firebirds is a model made for one of the most prominent blues guitarists in last 50 years, and it`s placed within the Firebird section of the Gibson Custom catalog. This modle comes with a solid Firebird body made of mahogany. Central part of the body is raised. This one is available in Vintage Sunburst and it comes with gloss finish. Johnny Winter Signature Firebird is aged and worn to look as it has been played for years. Bridge section on this one is made up of a tune-o-matic bridge and a stoptail bar in the back. Pikups on this one are minibuckers, in both the bridge and neck positions. mahogany/walnut neck features through-body construction and it`s topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

The pickups are very special. They are slightly microphonic dripping with soul and mojo. Super 3D sounding. Thank you Gibson. The action was a bit high. Easily fixed. With a quick adjustment the guitar is great. Took it to my gig last night and had a ball. Has some cool tele type of sounds. It is expensive, but you cannot get this sound without getting this guitar. The pickups are special. I have played many new firebirds and none have gotten this close. This is the best aging job I have ever seen. I A/B it up against 2 originals, I cannot beleive I am typing this, but the Johnny Winter was slighlty better.
