Back in 1954 upon the introduction of the Tuxedo guitar, Les Paul Custom has been named the king of solid guitars. A title more than deserved by the 1950s standards. But, what is more than amazing is that the subsequent LP Custom models have retained this title through six long decades. Grace and elegant appearance, combined with a royal tone quality and unsurpassed construction quality have always been the main pillars upon which LP Custom`s throne stood. Such is the case with the mesmerizing 2015 Les Paul Custom Figured, a LP Custom variant made for the players who want a bit more cosmetic variety (under the hood, it`s the LP Custom we all know and love). Wight-relieved mahogany body is made of a single piece of wood ensuring the ultimate string vibration transfer and the tone strength. Top is made of two pieces of high grade flamed maple, instead of the plain maple featured on the regular LP Custom models. Creme binding around the top, black sides and black back are still there (as are the other visual marks of the regular LP Custom), but the pickguard is omitted in favor of the expressive carved top. Rattler Burst and Centipede Burst are the names of two wild and eccentric color schemes (both have golden hardware and nitrocellulose finish). 498T in the bridge position and the 490R in the neck position comprise the standard LP Custom pickups combo. These bad boys grant the players that big, fat, dripping tone LP Customs of the past were known for. Regular controls unit and the two-piece bridge unit are also featured on the top. One-piece mahogany neck is topped with a one-piece rosewood fingerboard (22 frets, trapezoid inlays and 1-11/16" wide string nut). Grover Keystone machine heads are featured on the headstock. The MSRP is set at pretty high $6,199.
