Figured and quilt tops are standard features of today`s LP models, but it wasn`t always that way. Les Paul guitars started out with plain maple tops. They were carved, as are tops of today`s LPs, and bound, as well. This particular model is equipped with an exquisite example of a figured top. It`s carved, bound in creme and finished in high gloss. This model is only available in Butterscotch color scheme. Back of the body is made of mahogany and it sports strategically placed weight relief chambers. Tune-o-matic bridge is paired with a regular stoptail bar in the back. Both are plated in chrome. 498T is in the bridge and 498R in the neck position. Mahogany neck is equipped with modern contour and topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard.
