Les Paul Custom Rosewood Maduro comes from Gibson Custom as an effort to unify traditional ideas with modern player`s demands and new trends in guitar making. This Custom follows Les Paul`s vision of the Custom model being a black tie model when compared to a Standard, but, also follows the needs of today`s ever more demanding players. This Custom is a solid bodied single cutaway guitar made of mahogany back and maple top. There are Gloss and VOS variants, they body come in black and have multi-ply back and top bindings. Gloss is also equipped with an elevated pickguard, while the VOS has none. The bridge on both options is a tune-o-matic with a stoptail bar. On Gloss model, it is plated in gold, and on VOS in nickel. Gloss variant features Gibson 498T and 490R humbuckers, while the other one has '57 styled humbuckers. Both options feature split volume and tone knobs in conjunction with a three-way toggle switch. Mahogany neck is equipped with Les Paul Custom contour and mortise & tenon joint for both the Gloss and VOS variants. Upon the neck, double-layer maduro rosewood fingerboard is placed instead of traditional ebony. Dark note of maduro rosewood is very similar to the dark tones of ebony, thus the aesthetic identity is preserved. This is a change forced by world-wide restrictions in ebony wood distribution. Fingerboard is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets, mother-of-pearl block inlays, 1.6875 corian string nut and 12" radius. Other features include: 24-3/4" scale, gold or nickel plated hardware and Grover Keystone tuners. The MSRP for both the Gloss and VOS variants is set at $5,738.
