Solid Formed 17" Hollowbody Venetian is the first Gibson Custom offspring in the newly formed Solid Formed series. The main difference between this seemingly usual line of luxurious archtops and the other series of the kind, is Gibson`s new Solid Formed technology where the arched tops are made of flat pieces of wood. These flat panels are being bent into the wanted shapes through special processes and techniques, resulting in preserved wood grain. Solid Formed 17" Hollowbody Venetian comes with a beautifully carved all-maple body. It features a Venetian cutaway, white binding, and classic "f" holes on the top. Back, sides and the top are all made of solid wood, of course. Bourbon Burst, Cremona Burst and Sunrise Tea Burst are available color options, and all of them come with tortoise shell pickguards and nickel-plated hardware. Rosewood bridge is of the floating kind, featuring a vintage-styled trapezoid tailpiece. In the electronics department, the situation is very simple - there`s one pickguard-mounted minibucker pickup in the neck position. It comes with a proprietary two-piece controls unit made of one volume and one tone knob. Mahogany neck is glued to the body and features a one-piece rosewood fingerboard on top. 22-fret fingerboard, vintage tuners and standard 24-3/4" scale complete this beautiful archtop. The MSRP is set at $6,299.
