Out of six SG novelties introduced for 2014, SGJ, SGM and SG Special form the entry tier. SGM is the middle one of the three and is pretty much the same guitar as the SGJ, with the exception of tuners. Instead of the classic mechanic tuners found on SGJ, SGM rocks the ultra modern Min-E-Tune robotic tuners. Other than that, these two are pretty much the same thing. SGM is a solid and double-cut guitar with a thin and lightweight mahogany body. As the SG series rules and traditions dictate, there is no sculpted maple top (though several exceptions have been made in the past). Instead, SGs have the flat beveled top. Bridge section on the top is the classic one, featuring the tune-o-matic bridge in the front and the stoptail bar in the back. Pickups installed on the SGM are the same as the ones found on the SGJ. `61 zebra-coiled humbuckers with alnico V magnets have the standard SG series (standard Gibson) controls unit. Maple neck is set in and it rocks the rounded `50s contour in the back. 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on it`s top has dot inlays, 12" radius and 1.695" Tektold string nut. Gibson USA 2014 SGM has the MSRP set at $816.
