Gibson has, perhaps, the richest and most glorious history of electric guitars of all brands out there. Les Paul, SG, ES, Explorer, Firebird and Flying V have largely written and defined the history of modern music and have been played by virtually every noteworthy guitarist around the globe. Each of these guitars has left a mark so strong and has become a blueprint for other brands to copy. It is almost unimaginable to see them radically altered and changed, let alone fused. For the fall of 2014, Gibson Memphis has prepared for us one fusion model. ES Les Paul is it`s name and it`s pretty obvious which concepts were merged to create this six-stringed bombshell. Semi-hollow construction of an ES and seductive single-cut design of the classic LP work as if it was an original concept from 1950s. Back and sides are made of mahogany (center block is also mahogany), while the top is made of flamed maple. Light Burst and Black Top variants are available. Classic LP bridge unit is fronted with a pair of mighty Custom Bucker pickups with the standard controls unit. Set in mahogany/maple neck is fit with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on it`s top. 24-3/4" scale and vintage-styled Kluson tuners complete the specs list. The MSRP is set at $2,799.
