Joe Bonamassa, one of the premier blues guitarists of the younger generation, is already one of the biggest names around. His unique mixture of various blues styles with a healthy rock infusion has enchanted many a player around the world. Thus, Joe`s signature models are among the most popular signatures in Gibson/Epiphone catalog. Joe Bonamassa Skinnerburst `59 Les Paul is one of the finest examples of 2014 Gibson Custom catalog. It comes with a classic 1959 shape, vintage hardware and an interesting combo of active pickups. Solid and single-cut mahogany body is topped with a classic two-piece cap made of figured maple. Top is bound in vintage creme binding. Dirty Lemon color scheme is offered in both the VOS (vintage original specs) and Aged variants. Both are sealed in nitrocellulose lacquer and feature nickel-plated hardware. Bridge unit on the Skinnerburst`59 Les Paul is the classic two-piece made of a tune-o-matic bridge in the front and a stoptail bar in the back. This particular comb (tune-o-matic/stoptail bar) can be found on a vast majority of LP models (other combos include a lone stoptail bar, roller bridge with Bigsby vibrato in the back and even a Floyd Rose on several models). Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position and the Custombucker in the neck position comprise the pickups combo for this one. These two give a powerful and smooth tone with an amazing balance of high, mids and lows. Thanks to the classic Gibson construction, sustain is almost infinite. Mahogany neck with maple spline is attached through the classic mortise & tenon joint and is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. medium jumbo frets, trapezoid inlays, 1-11/16" wide nylon nut and 12" radius are featured on the fingerboard.
