Les Paul is probably the most popular single-cut electric guitar and is also one of the most popular electric guitars ever made. It owes it`s iconic design to the legendary Les Paul, whose name it still bears. Back in 1952, first production series were made and the rest is history. Today, Gibson USA honors Les Paul with a dedicated tribute model made especially to evoke the early 1950s. Body of this model is a classic one, it`s made of mahogany back and carved maple top. Back is completely solid and features no weight relief. Carved top is also a two-piece. There`s only one color scheme available for this model and it is Bullion Gold. Nitrocellulose gloss finish is applied over it. Bridge section is an interesting one, as it features a stop bar with trapezoid tailpiece attached together. Pickups on this model are single coils. Pair of active P-90s is installed in the bridge and neck positions. Neck is made of a single piece of mahogany and it features a rounded '50s profile, like it was used on early LPs. Fingerboard is made of rosewood, it`s bound in creme binding and equipped with 22 frets. Frets are marked with trapezoid inlays.
