Gibson Reverse Explorer

Explorer Electric Guitars by Gibson

Reverse Explorer by Gibson
Antique Walnut

Reverse Explorer is an homage to 1960s, when Firebird and some other models got their reversed versions. As it`s name says, this Explorer comes with a cutaway turned upside down. Body is solid, flat on top and made of mahogany. On it`s top there`s a lightning-shaped pickguard. It`s black and it encompasses all control knobs and switches and the bridge pickup, as well. The only color scheme assigned to this unique Explorer is Antique Walnut. Bridge section is a standard one, featuring tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail bar in the back. Pair of'57 Classic humbuckers is installed in the front. Set in mahogany neck has standard contour in the back and a 22-fret ebony fingerboard on top. Headstock is also reversed on this Explorer.

I saw it and was curious. I played with it and was pleased. I plugged it in to a Marshall half stack and was blown away. Holy crap the sound outta on this beast is through the roof! I could care less about the appearance (which I'm growing to love) once I felt the neck and heard the sonic explosion. Fat, thick, chunky. Perfect for classic rock/blues. Set it up for slide and you'll want to cry. I was surprised at how well balanced it was as well. Solid as a rock. Mine was slightly damaged, which is why I got a sweet deal. You'll have to pry this thing out of my cold dead hands. Because of it's appearance you can get these for under list (for now). Seems the general population don't appreciate the strangeness. Until you run across a player. Collectors might sell 'em. Players won't. Love it.
