SG is one of the main pillars of Gibson catalog and one of the most unlikely iconic guitars in history. SG started out as a replacement for the original LP, which started to lose popularity towards the end of 1950s. It was first named LP Solid Guitar, but since Mr Les Paul rejected it`s design, it was named only SG. Solid, flat, double-cut and with dot inlays on the fingerboard, it was a gamble, for Gibson was known for their super elegant and stylish guitars. This reissue captures the 1961 SG as it was made more than 50 years ago. Mahogany body is flat and has no excessive decorations. It`s paired with a set in mahogany neck. 22-fret rosewood fingerboard is featured on top. `57 Classic humbuckers are installed in front of the classic bridge section.
