2016 SG Faded comes in two variants - 2016T and 2016 HP. T model is there for the fans of the classic SG and classic Gibson, in general. On the other hand, High Performance model (HP stands for High Performance) is for players who want a modern,versatile guitar clad in classic SG outfit. SG Faded 2016 HP is a solid-bodied guitar with beveled top and signature "devil`s horns" double cutaway. Entire body is made of mahogany (several pieces comprise the body, they`re glued together), as is the neck. Top is covered with the big SG scratch plate. Black, of course. The neck is rounded and made of a single piece of mahogany. Since this is a High performance model, the neck is outfitted with a fast access heel and is wider than on Traditional Specs option. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and features a standard set of 22 frets with dot inlays, 1.745" zero fret nut and 12" radius. Gibson`s 490R and 490T pickups come in open-coil variant and feature a standard controls unit (two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch). Classic tune-o-matic bridge has titanium saddles (zero fret nut on the other end of the 24-3/4" scale is also made of titanium) and is backed up by a standard issue stoptail bar. Gibson`s G Force tuners, gold-plated output jack and noiseless pickup switch are also featured on this mean rocking machine. The price tag is set at $1,089, which is some $350 more than for SG Faded 2016T.
