SG Standard Left Handed comes with a solid, double-cut body made completely of mahogany. It features the legendary 'devil`s horns' cutaway, set in neck joint and contoured back. In addition to these features, body of a standard SG is also equipped with beveled edges and a large black pickguard. This Standard also has standard color palette. It consists of Black and Heritage Cherry. Both are finished in high gloss. SG`s neck made a revolution back in the early 1960s and it still ranks among the finest necks on the market. Standard features a set in mahogany neck with a 19th fret joint. Back contour is C-shaped, instead of the classic slim taper. On it`s top, Gibson installs a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. 498T humbucker is in the bridge and 490R in the neck position.
