Gretsch Electromatic Collection contains vintage-styled guitars made primarily for players with a taste in early forms of rock `n` roll, though they do speak some more modern dialects of rock language. Electromatic guitars are predominantly hollow-bodied and shaped as the great hollow bodies of the '50s and '60s. This series also contains several signature guitars. For the 2012 Gretsch renews the Tim Armstrong set of signature guitars with a completely new line of G5191 guitars. New G5191TMS Tim Armstrong Left Handed comes with a maple made body. The body is fully hollow and equipped with single cutaway. Construction-wise it has a set-in joint. Top panel is bound in several layers of binding, it`s carved with a pair of "f" holes, one on the each side of the bridge. Bridge section is the same as on the right-handed model. Adjust-o-matic bridge with rosewood base is in the front, followed by a tremolo bar with Bigsby vibrato. In the back Gretsch installs a trapezoid tailpiece. All hardware, including Grover tuners and pickups casings, is plated in gold. Blacktop Filtertron humbuckers have separate volume and tone knobs with an overall master volume knob and three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of maple and it`s topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 22 frets, block inlays and 1-11/16" wide string nut are featured on the fingerboard.
