Gretsch is one of the manufacturers with cult status and following around the world. Some of the biggest stars of rock and roll music have played and owned Gretsch guitars. Gretsch models have helped shape rock `n` roll as we now know it, and thus the the expectation of each new model are sky high. However, Gretsch makes it seem almost effortless to keep on improving and surpassing everything that competition has to offer. The latest proof is named G5422TDCG Limited Edition and it comes with a fully hollow body construction. This limited edition Electromatic double-cut has a body made entirely of maple. Back, sides and carved top are made of five layers of maple wood. Top is carved and equipped with a pair of bound "f" holes. Snow Crest White and Cherry Blossom are color options available and both are finished in urethane gloss. Bridge section is a three-piece. Rosewood-based adjust-o-matic is in front, followed by a Bigsby-licensed vintage vibrato and a decorative trapezoid tailpiece in the back. Tailpiece is embellished with company logo. Pickups are Black Top Filtertron humbuckers with master volume, neck volume, bridge volume and master tone knobs. Three-way toggle pickup switch is also included. Neck is made of maple, it`s set and topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Medium jumbo frets, hump block inlays and 1-11/16" wide string nut are featured on the fingerboard. Gold-plated hardware, vintage tuning machines and 24-1/2" scale complete the specs list.
