G5191MS Tim Armstrong is a brand new model from the Electromatic Collection made by Gretsch Guitars. This model is introduced along with three other G5191s in order to refresh and update the Tim Armstrong signature line. This new quartet consists of a tremolo and fixed-bridge model and their respective left-handed variants. G5191 is a single cutaway guitar with set-neck joint construction. It is made entirely of five layers of maple. Multi-ply binding is applied around the sound board, which is carved with a pair of "f" holes. Pickguards are omitted from the specs list of all four models. Mostly for aesthetic reasons, to fully show the beautiful maple sound boards. Bridge section on this one is rather more simple than on G5191TMS, it consists of adjust-o-matic bridge with rosewood base and trapezoid tailpiece in the back. This bridge is plated in gold. Also, the rest of the hardware is plated in gold. Pickups on this model are laid out in H/H pattern. These Blacktop Filtertron humbuckers are controlled through a setup of separate volume and tone knobs with master volume and three-way toggle pickup switch added. Neck is made of maple and it is set-in. It is topped with a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets.
