Panther is a new and original concept introduced by Gretsch Guitars to celebrate the 130th anniversary. G6137TCB Panther is the full name of the exclusive new six-stringer. Just like the two Falcon models introduced this summer, entire body (back, sides and top) are made of maple. Back and top are arched and are made of three layers of laminated maple, while the sides are made of solid maple. Center block inside the body is, however, made of spruce. It allows players to crank the gain knob further than ever before, while keeping the fresh and crisp tone, Gretsch fans are expecting to hear from this thoroughbred six-stringer. On the top of the body, Gretsch installs the classic Adjustomatic with rosewood base and Bigsby vibrato bar. In the back, the vintage-styled trapezoid tailpiece anchors the entire bridge section. Pickups combo is made up of two High Sensitive Filtertron humbuckers with a standard set of volume and tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck on this model is also made of maple and has the regular Falcon-styled contour in the back. On it`s top, there`s a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with medium jumbo frets, 12" radius and famous thumbnail inlays. Panther costs $3,450 in both black and white.
