S-100 pOlara is a revival of a once popular S-100 model from Guild Guitars. This new Polara is a solid-bodied guitar with SG-like contours. It features contoured back side and contoured edges of the top. It is made of solid mahogany in it`s entirety. Both the base and top side are made of mahogany. Cherry red color scheme is the only one and it`s finished in gloss. Coat of paint and lacquer is thin enough to accentuate the beautiful grain of mahogany and at the same time protect the wood. Top panel is covered with a black plastic pickguard. Bridge section is a standard one for guitars of this type, it features a nickel-plated adjust-o-matic bridge in the front and a stop tailpiece in the back, also plated in nickel. Pickups on S-100 Polara are Guild`s own active humbuckers. Controls unit which follows them is made up of separate volume and tone knobs. Three-way toggle switch is used as a pickup selector. Mahogany neck is made of a single piece of wood and equipped with U contour in the back. 22-fret fingerboard is made of rosewood. Grover tuners and 24-3/4" scale are also featured on this model.
