Artstar Vintage is a newly established series within the acclaimed Artstar range. It deals with hollow-bodied guitars with aged and worn appearance. The main trait of these new-old Artstar six-stringers is that they cost far less than similar models of US brands, but offer practically the same level of playability and quality. At 2016 NAMM, Ibanez has introduced only two models into the initial lineup, to break the ice. AS100FMD and AMV100FMD are their names and judging by these two, Ibanez has opened another great chapter of its history. AMV100FMD is a double-cut guitar with heavily worn appearance and mint-condition performance qualities. The double-cut body of this new-old six-stringer is made of mahogany back & sides and flamed maple top. Two-piece top is bound in aged binding and has two "f" holes. Set in mahogany neck is a three-piece with Artstar profile in the back. On its top, Ibanez installs a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with medium frets, split block inlays, 1.69" nut and 12" radius. Super 58 humbuckers cover the jazz blues and rock fields, bringing that famous Ibanez flavor to the mix. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs (neck volume has a push/pull switch which splits the neck pickup) and a three-way toggle switch comprise the controls. ART-1 bridge with Quick Change III tailpiece and deluxe tuners guarantee perfect tuning and intonation stability.
