Artstar Vintage is a brand new series within the Artstar range. Its main task is to offer vintage-styled and aged guitars at a fraction of the price some other brands would normally charge for such guitars. Also, Artstar Vintage models aim to offer the same, if not better level of quality than the competition, which makes it a pretty hard and tricky task. Nevertheless, the first Artstar Vintage models (introduced at 2016 NAMM) show that Ibanez has nailed the concept. ASV100FMD is one of two aged Artstar Vintage models introduced. It is a double-cut guitar with a short scale, 22-fret fingerboard, set-neck construction and completely convincing appearance of a heavily used guitar. ASV100FMD starts off with a symmetrical double-cut body made of flamed maple (back, sides and top) and a three-piece mahogany neck. Artstar-shaped neck is a three-piece with glued in joint in the back and a 22-fret ebony fingerboard on top. Electronics unit is a pretty standard one for an Artstar guitar. It includes a pair of Super 58 humbuckers with gold-plated covers. Extended controls unit incorporates a mini-switch which reverses the neck pickup into parallel connection. ART-1 bridge with Quick Change tailpiece and a set of high-end tuners complete the specs list.
