AS200 is one of three novelties introduced into the newly established Artstar Prestige series. This new-formed line deals with fully hollow electric guitars made primarily for the purists among jazz guitar players. All of the models in the Artstar domain are based on the classic jazz box concept and are closely related to the legendary jazz guitars from the 1950s and 1960s. For 2014, Ibanez introduces a three-guitar initial lineup of the Artstar Prestige series and AS200 is one of two double-cuts. It comes with a fully hollow body made of flamed maple. Back, sides and the carved and bound top are made of it. Top is bound in elegant white binding and fit with the classic two-piece bridge unit. Tune-o-matic bridge in the front and the stoptail bar in the back are plated in gold. Also, the covers of the passive Super 58 alnico humbuckers are plated in gold. Separate volume and tone pots, two mini switches and a three-way toggle pickup switch comprise the controls unit. Mahogany neck is set in and is equipped with a series standard AS contour in the back. On it`s top, Ibanez installs the standard 22-fret ebony fingerboard with abalone block inlays, medium-sized frets and bone nut.
