The wizard`s first apprentice and, possibly, the only one who has surpassed the Professor Satchafunkillus, Steve Vai is a long-time Ibanez signature artist. Ever since the days of the Crossroads movie where young and supernaturally talented Steve played the role of the Jack Butler, the devil`s champion, Ibanez and the New York`s wonder boy have been creating what is now the most recognizable signature guitar series in the world, one and only JEM. For 2015, JEM lineup is being powered up with a brand new Premium class model, the marvelous JEM77P. It kicks off with a traditional base, which consists of a solid, flat-top basswood body with a carved in "monkey handle" hole. Installed on the top, DiMarzio pickups come in the classic H/S/H configuration. Bridge and neck positions feature Gravity Storm humbuckers with blue coil covers, while the middle position is equipped with an Evolution single coil, also with a blue cover. Behind them, Edge Zero II locking trem system with an ultra light tremolo arm is installed. Master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Made of five pieces of maple and walnut and reinforced with a titanium truss rod, bolted neck rocks the classic JEM profile. Fingerboard on it`s top has 24 6105-sized frets with Tree of Life inlays across the frets. Black-clad tuners installed in a single line on the headstock complete the specs list.
