Meshuggah are one of the most important bands of today with their ground breaking work and innovations they brought to metal scene. Legends of extreme metal have finally got their signature model. It comes from Ibanez, and is fresh for 2012. This guitar was introduced at the NAMM Show this January. M8M Meshuggah kicks off with a solid double cutaway body made of alder. This body sports a neck-through construction. The top is flat and features no binding or pickguards. As for color options, currently, the only one available is black with matte finish. The bridge on this beast is a special unit, as it is fixed variant of Edge III double locking tremolo. It features eight saddles and black paint. Also, the locking nut is featured on the fingerboard. In the pickups department, there is one Lundgren M8 humbucker in the bridge. There are no neck pickups. Controls consist of master volume and master tone knobs. The neck is made of five pieces of maple and bubinga with slim profile and through-body construction. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and features 24 6100 frets with no position inlays. Fingerboard radius is 15.75" and string nut measures 2.16" in width. Another special feature of this model is it`s 29-2/5" scale length which gives enough tension for the eighth string and secures the clear bottom end of the tonal range.
