The brand new Genesis line is there for all the classic RG lovers who want the originals back in the game. Well, Ibanez is certainly answering some prayers this NAMM, as the legendary 550 is coming back in all its glory. It is accompanied by a pair of classic RGs (570 and 521) and together they form the Genesis series` first lineup. RG550 comes in a range of classic colors - Road Flare Red, Desert Sun Yellow, White, and Purple Neon. main construction features include a classic RG body (basswood-made, black pickguard, no binding), a five-piece maple/walnut neck (Super Wizard profile, tilt neck joint), a 24-fret maple fingerboard (jumbo-sized frets, black dot inlays, 1.69" locking string nut, 25.5" scale), an Edge locking tremolo bridge, Custom Shop pickups, and die-cast tuners.

Thank you Ibanez! I first experienced the magnificent RG 550 back in 1992. I was young and dumb and thru some bad choices wound up losing my RG 550. It was my first "real" guitar. Since then I've owned many other guitars but nothing could ever equal my RG. I searched high and low for a "vintage" RG 550 with absolutely no luck for many years. So as one can imagine I am so very happy that Ibanez finally reissued this incredibly versatile, extremely well built and beautiful legend. Thanks again Ibanez!
