The Genesis series is a special segment of the RG range, it was introduced to mark the 30th anniversary of RG. It has three main models - RG570, RG550, and RG521. All three are historically accurate replicas of the actual early RG models. Ibanez has introduced RG550L, the series first left-handed model, in summer 2018. RG550L rocks classic design, versatile tone, and traditional construction. Main features include a solid and flat body made of basswood, four-bolt neck joint with a neck plate with serial number, S/V pickups in H/S/H configuration, and top-shelf hardware. Desert Sun Yellow and Flare Red color options are available. Other notable features include a 5-piece maple/walnut neck, a 24-fret fingerboard made of maple, Edge Tremolo bridge, and die-cast tuning machines.
