Fredrik Akesson, the legend of progressive metal and bands such as Opeth, Arch Enemy and Krux is a new member of PRS SE signature club. His model is introduced for 2012 and just in time for 2012 NAMM Show in Anaheim, Ca. High quality woods and top shelf hardware are used for this metal beast. Fredrik Akesson Signature SE starts off with a solid, single cutaway body made of mahogany back and flamed maple top. The only color available is forntida brun with a gloss finish. The top is carved and does not have a pickguard. The bridge is an adjustable nickel-plated PRS stoptail bar. Pickup department brings dual PRS humbucker. The combo consists of PRS designed SE 245 Treble and PRS designed SE 245 Bass pickups. They are controlled through split volume and tone controls and a three-way toggle switch. Opposing the tradition, treble pickup controls are placed in front of bass pickup controls. The neck is made of mahogany with wide fat contour and a set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of ebony and features 22 frets with bird position inlays. 24-1/2" scale, nickel plated hardware and PRS designed tuning machines complete the specs for SE Fredrik Akesson signature model.
