Back in his early days, Paul Reed Smith used to be the apprentice of the legendary Ted McCarty (the man behind some of the most successful Gibson models ever created). Years later, Mr. McCarty unselfishly helped the budding PRS guitars with his expertise, thus earning a very special status within PRS forever. 2018 Singlecut McCarty 594 Semi-Hollow Limited is one of the latest models named after the late guitar industry icon. It is the single-cut half of the limited edition Core series McCartys introduced in 2018. Main features include a semi-hollow mahogany body, two-piece figured maple top ("f" hole, creme binding), set-in mahogany neck (Pattern Vintage profile), 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard (24.594" scale, Bird inlays, 10" radius), mighty 58/15 humbuckers, two-piece hardtail bridge unit, and Phase III locking tuners.
