Tempest is one of the original Schecter body shapes. It was introduced years ago and is, currently, one of the main body shapes, along with C (double-cut Soloist guitars with carved tops), Solo (LP) and Avenger (a hyper modern take on the classic double-cut guitar). Apart from the series named Tempest (rock and hard rock orientation and vintage styling), Tempest models in other series are mostly metal-oriented guitars. Such is the case with the new Blackjack Tempest for 2014. It is a solid and double-cut guitar with a carved top and set in neck joint. It is made entirely made of mahogany and is paired with a mahogany neck. On the top, there`s the simple tune-o-matic bridge with strings running through the body behind it. Seymour Duncan`s Nazgul and Sentient humbuckers are present on this one, as well. Two volume and two tone knobs are accompanied by a three-way toggle pickup switch. Mahogany neck is made of three pieces of wood and it features the standard thin C contour in the back. On it`s top, there is the standard 24-fret fingerboard made of ebony.
